Learn how to safely sign out of your PromptAsCode account

Overview

Signing out of PromptAsCode ends your current session and protects your account from unauthorized access. This is especially important when using shared or public computers.

How to Sign Out

    Locate the Sidebar - The sidebar is on the left side of the screen when you're logged in.

    Scroll to Account Section - Find the account section at the bottom of the sidebar.

    Click 'Sign Out' - Click the Sign Out button (with the logout icon).

    Confirm Sign Out - You'll be signed out and redirected to the home page.

Alternative Method

You can also sign out from the navigation bar by clicking your profile icon (if visible) and selecting "Sign Out" from the dropdown menu.

What Happens When You Sign Out

Session Terminated

Your authentication token is invalidated. No one can access your account from this browser without signing in again.

Local Data Cleared

Temporary session data stored in your browser is cleared. Your saved prompts and preferences remain safely stored in your account.

Redirected to Home

You're redirected to the public home page. You can sign back in at any time.

Your Data is Safe

Signing out doesn't delete any of your data. All your prompts, training sessions, settings, and history are safely stored and will be there when you sign back in.

Security Considerations

When to Sign Out

Always sign out when:

  • Using a shared or public computer
  • Leaving your computer unattended for extended periods
  • Finished working in a sensitive environment
  • Lending your device to someone else
  • Suspecting unauthorized access to your account

Additional Security Measures

  • Use a strong, unique password
  • Don't save passwords on shared computers
  • Check for the secure (HTTPS) connection
  • Report any suspicious activity to support

Multiple Devices

Signing out on one device doesn't sign you out on other devices. Each device maintains its own session. If you need to sign out everywhere, contact support for a full session reset.

Troubleshooting

Can't Find Sign Out Button?

The Sign Out button is in the sidebar footer. If you can't see the sidebar, try expanding it using the menu icon or increasing your browser window size.

Still Showing as Logged In?

Try clearing your browser cache and cookies, then refresh the page. If the issue persists, close all browser windows and reopen.

Sign Out Didn't Work?

If clicking Sign Out doesn't seem to work, your session may have expired. Try refreshing the page - you should be redirected to sign in.
